Warranty, Price Match & Rebate Terms
These terms describe the guarantees Advanced Air & Fire Inc., doing business as Tiger Plumbing Heating & Air (“Tiger,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), offers on residential work, and the conditions that apply to them. Wherever our website or advertising mentions our workmanship guarantee, price match, or rebate assistance, these conditions apply. They are part of our Terms and Conditions and of your job documents. If your written estimate, proposal, or invoice states different warranty terms for a specific job, that document controls for that job.
1. Our One-Year Workmanship Guarantee (Limited Warranty)
Our promise. We stand behind the quality of our work. If a repair or installation we performed fails because of a defect in our workmanship within one year after the completion date, we will return and correct it at no charge for labor. Although any larger permanent project we perform, per regulation, those projects such as installs get a two year workmanship warranty. That promise is our Workmanship Guarantee, and the terms below are the warranty that backs it.
What is covered. The labor and workmanship of repairs and installations performed by Tiger technicians at the property where the work was done, for one year from the date we completed the work. The warranty covers the property, not just the original customer: if the home is sold during the warranty period, the new owner receives the remainder of it.
Parts and equipment. Equipment and parts are covered by their manufacturer’s or supplier’s warranty, which varies by product; we will tell you the manufacturer’s warranty terms for your equipment, help you register it when registration is required, and help you file manufacturer claims. Where no manufacturer or supplier warranty applies, parts we supply are warranted against defects for one year from installation. Manufacturer warranties usually cover the part but not the labor to replace it; our workmanship warranty covers labor only when the failure was caused by our workmanship.
How to make a claim. Call (952) 942-5748 or email mail@callthetiger.com, describe the problem, and we will schedule a visit. There is no dispatch fee for a valid workmanship claim. If our technician finds that the problem was not caused by our workmanship, we will explain what we found and quote any repair before doing chargeable work; our standard dispatch fee may apply to that visit.
Your remedy. We will repair or redo the defective work. If we cannot correct it after a reasonable number of attempts, we will refund the labor charge for the defective portion of the work. This is your sole remedy under this written warranty; it does not limit any remedy you have under Minnesota Statutes chapter 327A or other law.
What is not covered.
- Normal wear, cosmetic issues not reported within 7 days of completion, and the cost of routine maintenance your equipment needs after our work.
- Consumables and wear items such as filters, batteries, UV lamps, water-softener salt or media, and thermostat batteries.
- Damage caused by misuse, neglect, lack of maintenance, power surges, lightning, freezing, flooding, sewer backups from outside your home, pests, fire, or other events outside our control.
- Problems caused by water quality, sediment, scale, or corrosion.
- Equipment, parts, or materials supplied by you or by someone other than Tiger.
- Damage or failures caused by work, modifications, or repairs by anyone other than Tiger after our work was completed.
- Pre-existing conditions and components we did not work on, including existing piping, ductwork, wiring, venting, and drains that we were not hired to replace.
- Failures that result from your decision to decline a related repair, upgrade, permit, or inspection we recommended in writing.
- Drain-cleaning services, which are warranted for 30 days against re-blockage of the same line, unless a camera inspection shows that the line is damaged, root-intruded, or improperly sloped, in which case no warranty applies to the clearing.
Minnesota statutory warranties. If our work is a home improvement under Minnesota Statutes chapter 327A, you also have the statutory warranties in Minn. Stat. § 327A.02, including a two-year warranty that plumbing, heating, and cooling systems we install are free from defects caused by faulty installation that does not comply with building standards, and a one-year warranty against defects caused by faulty workmanship and defective materials due to noncompliance with building standards. Those warranties pass to later owners of the home. Nothing in these terms waives, limits, or shortens them.
Limited warranty notice. This is a limited warranty. Any implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are limited in duration to the one-year period of this written warranty, to the extent permitted by law. We are not liable for incidental or consequential damages arising from a workmanship defect, to the extent permitted by law. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts or the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, so these limitations may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state.
2. Price Match
We will match a competitor’s price on comparable equipment installations and repairs under the following conditions:
- Comparable work. The competitor’s quote must be for the same brand, model, size, and efficiency of equipment (or equipment we agree is equivalent), the same scope of work, the same warranty coverage, and must include permits and code-required items. Repair quotes must be for the same repair with comparable parts.
- Written and current. The quote must be a written, itemized estimate on the competitor’s letterhead or software, dated within 30 days, and you must show it to us before you approve our estimate and before work begins.
- Legitimate competitor. The competitor must hold the Minnesota licenses and bonds required for the work (a Minnesota plumbing contractor license for plumbing work; a mechanical contractor bond on file with the Department of Labor and Industry for heating and cooling work), carry liability insurance, and serve your area. We do not match quotes from unlicensed or unbonded contractors, handymen, or contractors who do not pull required permits.
- Verification. We may contact the competitor to verify the quote. We do not match quotes that contain obvious errors, that are not available to the general public, or that are contingent on financing promotions, bundled services, or the competitor’s own rebates.
- Exclusions. Clearance, liquidation, going-out-of-business, used, refurbished, or online-only equipment prices; installation-only quotes for equipment you supply; and quotes for work that would not meet code.
- One guarantee per job. A price match replaces, and is not combined with, coupons, promotions, or membership discounts on the same job.
If we agree to match a price, the matched price becomes the price on your written estimate.
3. Rebates
Utility and manufacturer rebates can reduce the cost of new equipment. Here is how we handle them:
- We help you find and file them. We identify rebates that may apply to your project and, with your authorization, submit the rebate paperwork on your behalf. We share only the information the program requires (typically your name, address, utility account number, and equipment details).
- Programs belong to third parties. Rebates are offered by utilities (for example, CenterPoint Energy or Xcel Energy) and manufacturers under their own rules. Eligibility, amounts, deadlines, funding, and approval are decided by the program, not by Tiger, and programs can change or end without notice. We do not guarantee that a rebate will be approved or paid, or the amount.
- Who receives the rebate. Unless your written estimate says the rebate is credited on your invoice, the program pays the rebate directly to you.
- Credited rebates. If we credit an expected rebate on your invoice and the program later denies it because of incorrect information you provided, a change in your utility account, or your failure to complete a step the program requires of you, you agree to pay us the credited amount.
- Tax credits. Federal or state tax credits for energy-efficient equipment depend on your tax situation. We can provide equipment certification documents, but we do not give tax advice; consult a tax professional.
